11-12 Challenge of lifetime!

2011 has been an incredible year – as part of the 19 man crew on ‘Gold Coast Australia’, we  crossed the formidable Southern Ocean competing amongst a fleet of ten identical ‘Clipper Round the World’ yachts.  Joining in Capetown, we raced for 25 days non-stop to Geraldton, Western Australia, as far south as Antartica, covering   4,750 miles.

In April 2012,  I’ll be re-joining my crew and race from the USA coast to coast.  Leg 7  will leave San Francisco out into the vast Pacific down via the Panama canal and up to New York.

Follow my journey right here to discover what it’s like to take part in the Clipper Round the World Yacht race, the training programme, the build up, the race start and then joining the crew to face the southern ocean leg, not to mention the winning!

I’m raising money too for ‘Seesaw’, a small charity with a big heart here on my doorstep in Oxfordshire which offers grief support for the young. Seesaw helps children move forward and face the future with hope when they loose a loved one.

So, don’t hold back, please sponsor me now!  For every sponsored pound, half will go to SeeSaw and half towards my berth fee for this once-in-a-lifetime challenge.
